WHO SHOULD READ THIS?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New customers and evaluators who received or downloaded a new 
version of WorkplaceControl.

INSTALLING THE COMPONENTS OF WORKPLACECONTROL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Open the WorkplaceControl ZIP file, and copy the installation
   database (WpC-Install.nsf) to your local Notes data directory.

2. Optional (but recommended): to prevent unwanted "Execution 
   security alert" windows, you can sign the database using your
   own ID file. Info on signing databases can be found below.

3. Open the WorkplaceControl installation database 
   (WpC-Install.nsf) and follow the instructions.

4. After the installation process, it is strongly recommended 
   to sign all the resulting WorkplaceControl databases.

You are now ready to use WorkplaceControl !

WHAT DOES THE INSTALLER DO?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before the actual installation of files is performed, a wizard driven 
selection is presented. Only the components selected will be installed at 
the locations selected.

No changes will be made to the NAB, like adding mail-in documents, unless this option 
is selected explicitly.

ACTIVATING THE AGENTS IN THE USER AUDIT REPOSITORY (MAIL-IN DB)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Audit Repository comes with an agent that runs after new mail
has arrived. Please note:

1. The agent should be saved or signed with a user ID, whose 
   home/mail server is identical to the server where this audit 
   repository db is installed.

2. You must open and save ALL agents once, in order to make them
   work properly.


If the admin (signer) works on a different home/mail server, 
you have three options:

1. Always start the agent manually with the button provided in the
   Audit Repository.

2. Activate the agent "on Schedule Convert New arrived documents"; 
   this will process all new documents at a specific interval.

3. Edit the notes.ini of the Server. Add the line 
   "AMgr_DisableMailLookup = 1". This will ignore the user's
   home/mail server setting in the "after new mail" triggered agent.

PLATFORMS SUPPORTED / SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WorkplaceControl can act on any workstation on which a Lotus 
Notes Client has been installed. WorkplaceControl has been 
developed entirely within Notes and operates only inside Notes.


The following conditions and limitations may apply:

- User workstations: a standard Lotus Notes client, R.4.5 and 
  above.

- The Administrator, who is using the actual WorkplaceControl 
  engine database, needs a Lotus Notes R5.0.10 or higher client.

INFORMATIONAL: HOW TO SIGN A DATABASE WITH AN ID FILE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Start the Domino Administrator client

2. Select the location (server or local) of the database

3. On the Files Tab, select the database that you want to sign

4. Choose Tools - Database - Sign

5. Select "All design documents" to update all the design 
   elements of WorkplaceControl with your ID.

6. Click OK.
