WpC Policies 1.0 released

AedifiComm is proud to announce that the new
Policy module is available within the WorkplaceControl Suite. The
new module will store 'Client Settings' in a central database on
the Domino server. Policy documents will assign the 'Client
Settings' to individual users through individual names, groups,
home/mail server users and more.
The lotus notes Client will proactively check with
this central database every time the user logs on by providing the
notes password. Settings that are assigned to the end user will be
checked for and enforced immediately.
For users working off-line, the settings can
automatically be stored in a local storage. This storage will be
used to enforce the settings while disconnected from the Domino
server. Changes in the central database will automatically be
synched with the local storage at the next connection with the
server.
What are the benefits of this new
Module?

Client settings are enforced from a central database on the
Domino server

No email messages are sent out, so no need for 'Stored forms'
in the mail file

Settings will be checked and applied at every log on

Notes clients that use another email systems like Outlook can
be updated

Settings can be applied before the user logs on with the Notes
password, allowing for the enforcement of Workspace Icons on
specific tabs and positions at every start-up

All existing WorkplaceControl actions will be available in the
new module
At this moment the Policy module comes with it's own installer.
Also the licensing information is not incorporated within the
download package, but provided by email. After
the installation the license key can be requested and can be
uploaded.
